"My time at Bristol helped me understand people better and have a greater appreciation of different cultures. I really developed my public speaking skills at university and I learnt to think critically in my work. I am now a Coding and Tracking Development Expert at Imperial Tobacco in Hamburg, Germany. I manage international projects and I travel as part of this. My studies at Bristol were an excellent preparation for the world of work."

Live and study in one of England's most vibrant cultural cities
Bristol is an historic port city, but combines this with the atmosphere of a fast-paced, dynamic, and modern metropolis. Considered to be the capital of the south-west of England, Bristol offers a vibrant cultural life and an independent spirit.
Bristol has so much to offer outside of its excellent university. Bristol was recently named the best city to live in by The Sunday Times in 2014. A true student city, it caters for a young population with: arts; culture; entertainment; live music; independent cinemas; musicals; comedy; theatre; shopping; and sports.
Bristol was named European Green Capital for 2015 and has more than 450 parks and green spaces for students to enjoy. University of Bristol is located right in the heart of Clifton, close to the city centre and the surrounding countryside. University of Bristol is also an accredited Fairtrade university.
Made in Bristol
Bristol is home to many science and technology organisations such as: Concorde (the world’s first commercial supersonic jet); the BBC’s Natural History Unit; and Aardman Animations, (creators of Wallace and Gromit).
The South West region also has much to offer students who may want to unwind and get some fresh air in the countryside. The Cotswolds and Brecon Beacons are easily accessible, as well as the traditional seaside town of Weston-Super-Mare. The coasts of Devon, Cornwall, and the Gower are ideal for surfing and walking.
